Welcome to the 41st Millennium

It is the 41st Millennium, and in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. Luckily, around here that war happens on a tabletop. Citadel Club is where students meet to build miniatures, paint armies, learn the lore, and play Warhammer 40k.

Whether you're drawn to the heroic Adeptus Astartes, the relentless Xenos, or you just want to try painting something very small, there's a place for you here. Complete beginners are welcome.

Into the Mortal Realms

Not every war we fight happens among the stars. Warhammer Age of Sigmar is set in the Mortal Realms, eight vast worlds of raw magic where the God-King Sigmar's Stormcast Eternals battle to reclaim the lands from the forces of Chaos, Death, and Destruction.

It's high fantasy instead of grim sci-fi: lightning-forged warriors, duardin sky-fleets, living sylvaneth forests, and roaring orruk hordes. The rules are a bit lighter than 40k, which makes Age of Sigmar a great first game if you've never pushed a miniature across a table before. Bring either army to a meeting, or try both and see which one grabs you.

  • Build

Assemble kits, try conversions, and put together your first squad with help from people who've done it before.

  • Paint

Learn basecoats, washes, and highlights, then pick up more advanced techniques as you go.

  • Play

Learn the rules with a patient opponent, then take your army into friendly games against other members.

  • Lore

Talk factions, swap book recommendations, and argue about which Primarch was actually right.

New recruits

Do I need to own any models?

No. Come to a meeting first and see what it's all about. Members are usually happy to let newcomers try a game with their armies.

I've never played before. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Most members started out knowing nothing. Ask at any meeting and someone will walk you through the basics one step at a time.

Isn't this hobby expensive?

It can be, but it doesn't have to be. A single starter set is enough to start playing, and you can try painting before buying anything of your own.

Do I need to know the lore?

No. Plenty of members just like painting or playing. If you want to dive in, there are decades of stories waiting, and people here who will happily tell you all of them.

Where should I store my models?

There's room to store them in Mrs. Quiroz's room. Keep in mind that other members are storing their models there too and space is limited, so please only bring what you need.

How do I join?
